Hopefully this will be quilted and binded by the end of next week.
Have a great Friday!!!

First, take the print square and a neutral square and place them right sides together.
Next, sew a quarter inch seam around the entire square.
Then, cut the square on the diagonal from corner to corner in both directions.
{I drew lines just for a visual; it's not necessary and just adds an extra step.
Just use a ruler as a guide when cutting}
Press each new smaller square open and there you go, 4 half square triangles!
{Square up each block if necessary. If you sew a perfect 1/4" seam there shouldn't be much to square}
Half square triangles are easy to do and the variations in design are endless! I hope this pictorial helps and please feel free to ask questions or leave other tips you find handy.

So this....
turned into this
and then into this...
hopefully it will all be sewn together by the end of the night.
Now on to more important news...
The Sew, Mama, Sew! giveaway has come to a close and I can't wait to find out if I won something.
Fingers crossed!!!
I had over 370 entries for the Fat Quarter set of Miscellany by Cloud 9 Fabrics.
It's neat to read everyone's comments on what their favorite notion is and it seems to be a consensus,
the seam ripper is our most valuable player when it comes to sewing.
So without further ado...
Congratulations Sue!!

{No animals were harmed in the making of this blog post}
My sweet cat Sophie has been uncharacteristically awake and more characteristically
in the way!
Yesterday sweet Sophie decided the perfect place to look out the window was on my sewing table
{while I was attempting to sew}
even though she had an entire window ledge she could stretch out on.
She was quit content as her tail was swishing back and forth
Good thing I wasn't stippling!
despite the tail swishing distraction I managed to make some progress with my Salt Air charms
I was also able to cut them into fours and get them all pressed.
I'm still contemplating the layout but with any luck I'll have a quilt top done today.
Fingers crossed!
