My Little Triangle Quilt

I have been wanting to do a triangle quilt for some time.
I even bought a ruler for triangles last fall but had never figure out how to use it.
Then i came across a quilt on Pinterest and knew i had to try it.
Wouldn't you know the quilt was made by Lee from Freshly Pieced!
The quilt that became my inspiration can be found here.
My little triangle quilt has been hanging on my design board for a couple of months now.

This weekend i decided to take a break from my Marcelle Medallion Quilt and finish piecing this one.
I really only had a few seams left to sew.

I changed it just a tad...
I added one larger triangle.
Which was interesting, me trying to figure out how big it needed to be.
I've never been a super star in math.
Thankfully, for some quilt math there is an App for that.
Did you know that Robert Kaufman has an app?

I loved this print from Luxe in Bloom by Sarah Watson so much and wanted to use it
but by cutting it up so small you would completely lose the print.

I don't have the fabric for the backing yet but i ordered this print

Extravagarden Hush

I can't wait till it gets here and i can finish this puppy up.
I'm still  trying to decide how to quilt it.
A part of me wants to free motion quilt it.
I've been practicing.
but i'm scared!

QUILTCON

I just got back from QUILTCON in Austin, TX and it was amazing.  I took tons of pictures and I'm excited to share them over the next couple of days.  I was able to attend the Saturday lectures and was impressed and inspired by everything I heard and saw.  Quiltcon was informative with talks about copyright law and photography and inspiring with talented quilters telling their stories of life, learning, and making.

This is the quilt that is being raffled off made by the Modern Quilt Guild

The Modern Quilt Guild busy selling raffle tickets, totes, and more.

TEXAS - Made by Dana Michaelsen and quilted by Angela Waters

This quilt probably looks familiar
TOUCH THIS QUILT - Made by Elizabeth Hartman

The Irony was not lost on me...

I will have more photos of some really awesome quilts in the days to follow.
Did you attend Quiltcon too?  What did you think?

Having Fun With HST

I month ago I received my Charming Solids Club packet of Good Fortune fabrics.  I knew I was going to use this collection for my nieces 5 year-old quilt but I wasn't quit sure how I was going to use it.  It took me forever to decide and I'm really loving the challenge of coming up with different ways to use charm packs.  I finally decided on doing HST and I had plenty of white fabric on hand to do it.  So I set to work needing to finish this quilt quickly so I could take it to the party.

I think she really liked it!  I love how the colors are so vivid in this collection.  I will definitely make another one of these quilts.  It was fun, fast, and easy.  It was also the first time that I quilted using a wavy pattern which was also super fast and easy.

I would love to hear your comments or see you HST quilt projects.
