It's a Stasher

I don't know if you have seen or heard about Aunt Edna by Denyse Schmidtbut it's a stasher for sure. I've just started to see it around on the web and loved the colors.  I doubt I ever would have noticed it in the local Joann's because I never walk down the quilting fabric aisles, ever!  I typically buy all of my quilting fabric on Etsy or at my local quilt shops.  I only go to big box stores for basic supplies and always with a coupon in hand and besides the quality of their fabric just isn't there... until I met Aunt Edna.

I'm glad the images of this fabric collection was compelling enough to make me go and check it out for myself.  It's been awhile since I've even been in a Joann's but since it was coupon commotion week I decided to make the drive.  I was delighted that the fabric quality was there and overjoyed that I had enough coupons to buy a bit of each print.  I doubt I would have indulged myself without the coupons because these prints come at a price, $12.99 a yard {ouch!}

I also was able to pick up a few supplies too.  A little Gutermann thread here and a little batting there and I'm ready to go.  Couldn't wait to get back home and start making something.  I had a couple of different projects in mind and was changing my mind every few minutes.  Then I just went totally out on my own and decided to come up with my own quilt design.  Here is a peek at what I'm working on.

If it turns out alright I'll post a tutorial.  Hopefully it will be my first quilt tutorial that will be followed by many more!

until then,
